Birdhouses

I have been so busy with our daughter's middle school musical and our other daughter's graduation from grad school...both this weekend....that I have not had a moment to do the blog~a~choo~choo...and it is my favorite dance!!!

Just thought I would share some of the fun I had with Dollar Store birdhouses, paper, twine, a pencil and beeswax...oh yeah...and finials!

I'll be coming up for air soon...and boy~oh~boy the catching up we will do...Cha, cha, cha!

Cowboy Boots ~ My Highest Recommendations

I cannot begin to express my deep love for my cowboy boots...I wear them all the time!

Garden Awakening

I am totally enjoying my garden coming back to life after a long winter's nap....in fact...I'm HOOKED! So here's to you Julia at Hooked on Houses...Fridays have never been the same since you came to town!

Upside~Down Tomato Cages

Here is what I did during a mid~afternoon tea break today...

I made some toppers for my upside~down tomato cages...

To decorate potted plants...I place a tomato cage in a pot...upside~down!

See...then for fun and flair...I made some toppers...

You can make them out of anything...

Here is an upside~down metal pot and I added an old drawer pull to the top...

Baby clay pot, lace, button, sea shells, and a magic marker...

The usual suspects...clay pot, buttons, marker and a finial...

Here...a bit of ribbon, paint, nest and a ratty~tatty old fake~ola bird...

This is a salt~n~pepper shaker I found at the grocery store for a buck...

See...

We might get snow...but I am dreaming of more garden shenanigans when Mr. Sun returns...

Drop Cloth Pillows, Coffee Filters and Wheat Grass ~ Oh My!

I love this week before Easter...all of the meal planning, egg dyeing, supply gathering and spring nesting put me in such a good mood. The warm sunshine that we bathed in earlier this week made my hop a little more hip~pity as well. Don't get me wrong...I couldn't hop to save my life... I'm just saying...

I wanted to share some of my Easter decor antics...because I am a sharing girl.

I've been enjoying all of the fun being had with coffee filters and wheat grass in creative~ville~land over the past few weeks...I am grateful for all of the generous ideas.

You all know my love of the drop cloth...I got it bad. Don't want the cure. I thought I would make up some Easter~y drop cloth pillows...they are easy~peasy and super duper different and weird and goof~ball in the most wonderful, rustic, make~do way!

Having said all of this it is clear that I am HOOKED ON EASTER DECOR...yep, hooked on every last egg, Peeps loving, feather, carrot, rabbit, Cadbury, nest, coffee filter, flower budding, shinny Easter grass, drop cloth, jelly bean, re~birth moment of it. I am hooked on Julia too...her Hooked on Fridays are the chocolate bunny ears of all of our holidays!

I love taking the ordinary and doing something unexpected with it...

But then again, I have done this so many times...I guess it is not so unexpected...

This was fun...I took a metal hanging plant thing and put it on an urn...

And of course, added some polka~dot eggs...

Budding branches from the yard are fun to decorate for holidays...
