A Half A Yard Of Fabric Love

I have a serious thing for fabric.  When I spot some yummy yardage that I love, my heart beats faster, I might weep, my creative mojo kicks in...yep...I'm hooked on fabric.  Thanks to Julia from Hooked on Houses for giving us a place to give our obsessions a shout out.

So in an effort to be more practical and less wasteful...I decided to only buy fabric with a purpose in mind and not to be forever adding to the collection of yards and yards marinating at home...

BUT...that was no fun and it was making my mojo hurt.

My solution...when I coveted a delightful piece of cloth I decided that I would only purchase a half a yard!

It was a brilliant idea...because you know what I discovered?  There is a whole world of mojo nurturing fabric thirst that a half a yard of fabric can quench.

Take a gander at what I am rambling on about ~

Decoupaged the front of my daughter's dresser...

This was only about a quarter of a yard...

I love this old rickety dresser...I inherited it from my childhood pal...

I cut out and decoupaged these flowers on the front of my craft cabinet...

Gave my kitchen pig a spring~time kerchief...

The yellow pillow ~ half a yard, the rooster pillow ~ an old towel and my baby sister's old pants cut up for the roof...

The white pillow ~ half a yard...the baby house pillow...not much fabric at all...

Covered an old chair ~ half a yard...pillow ~ a third of a yard...

Each of these pillows...less than half a yard...

I bet your mojos are mojo~ing...

I didn't have quite enough fabric for this chair...so I added a stripe...looks like I planned it...

Pillow on porch...a bit of fabric from on old sheet...

Buffalo check pillow...a quarter of a yard...and HOT GLUED TOGETHER!!!
Cha, cha, cha!

I am covering some canvas with some cloth...how much you ask...a half of yard of course...

I am off to sew and glue and staple and fold...little bits of fabric...waste not~want not...so true.

Check out all of the wonderful blogs at Julia's place.

Happy Weekend Everybody!

Smiles ~ Ramona

Good morning! I wholeheartedly agree. I feel the same about fabric. I get excited, goose bumps, shaky all because I can't wait to make something with it. I love all your projects and yes 1/2 a yard is wonderful and goes a long way towards happiness~!
blessings,
Debbie

To say that you love fabric is truly an understatement. We could open a fabric store in our house. But yes everyone is right you are truly creative and talented indeed. Love you!!
