Sweet Passage Of Seasons Is In The Air

"When the days begin

to shorten, soon after the

summer solstice,

a tree reconsiders its leaves."

~ Diane Ackerman

I am not sure if it is because we have had rainy, stormy, windy, blustery, somewhat chilly, bread kneading, soup stirring, fire building weather of late that is gently stirring my fall yearning ~ or~ I just heart fall that much...whatever the reason....that is what is on my mind.

So with that stage set...here is my list of wonderfully cozy and lovely fall~ish, harvest~y, leaf turning, back~to~school shopping~~esque things to do on a rainy Oregon afternoon ~ enjoy~

One ~ Cuddle under a homemade afghan and watch 'The Jane Austen Book Club"

Two ~Make soup...duh!

Three ~ Read Cupcake Blogs....yum~o~rama

Four ~ Putz around the house placing a few...just a few...fall decor pieces here and there...and what the hoot...everywhere ~ Cha, cha, cha!

Five ~ Do some kind of knitting, crocheting or needlework....heaven

Six ~ Make Cupcakes with {real} butter cream frosting ~ trust me when I tell you that once you make frosting from scratch you will never go back....no way, no sir, Amen.

Seven ~ While stirring the soup...French Onion sounds de~lish...tidy up the fridge {very satisfying}

Eight ~ Write a letter to an old friend

Nine ~ Paint an old chair, or a metal can, or a chubby little canvas, or a slice of wood, or your toes

Ten ~ Blog surf....Cow~a~bunga Baby~

Smiles ~ Ramona

Please send some of that fall weather down here...

I have been trying to read "Pride and Prejudice", but it goes better with a cuppa hot tea and it is way too how here in the deep south for hot tea. ;-)

Honestly, I am reading others post about fall, and it does seem for far away for me. Still hottest part of the summer here. :D I am ready for the PBS series to come back on though.

Oh, I am so ready for Fall too. We have had very rainy weather for about 4 out of the last 5 days and our temps. have been staying in the 80's ....which is great for this area...much better than 100's. I have started putting a few Fall things out here and there.

I know though, that we will still have some horribly hot weather before we get that nice chilly stuff.

Ramona, I just love your blog! It makes me smile. My son was reading it over my shoulder, and he said, "Mom, she wrote cha-cha-cha! I bet she's fun to be around!"
:)
Also, I baked some chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting if you want to hop on over to GA. :)

Our weather is so funky...hot and humid one day (like today) then in the 70's and low humidity the next...but bone, bone dry, too, cannot believe how dry it is, we need rain so bad!

I laughed at your 'putz' comment, we use that word all of the time around here...we are all putzers, even the kids, it's funny.
